Picked up an ad flyer from local pet store. Looking at 75gallon 48 inch long tank not sure yet depth and width. Is it big enough? Spouse wants Me to look for used tank. I think I am better off new so I can stay away from any problems. Appreciate any feedback from experienced hobbyists.

Re: Tank size
I think you probably will need a bigger tank, I guess it depend on how many piranha you want it to house.

Re: Tank size
Thanks for your input. I am thinking 75 for a solo fish. Sounds like from reading all the threads out there. If I want a Shoal to reach mature size the tank (without losses) will need to be 300 gallons. I would probably be smart to start back slow with a shoal of Red belly Piranha. Although I like Caribe and Piraya. Then I got to see the photo of your Maculatus. Not sure of my spelling. It was a beautiful fish too!
